First time I have the door slammed in my face

Tuesday, April 5, 2005

We did a ton of tracting today; probably more than I’ve ever done in my whole mission in one day. Today was actually the first time that I’ve actually had a door slammed in my face. It was a little bit discouraging. We worked really hard. This morning we taught a lesson to Jerber about missionary work because he is a branch missionary and doesn’t really yet understand what he is to do with his calling. It went well I guess but was a little bit scatterbrained. Elder Durrant is really good with the scriptures and that is one thing that I need to work on.

All afternoon we didn’t get any lessons but walked around a lot and did some tracting/finding. Tonight we got to teach Alvin Gonzalez the lesson about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It went well and the spirit was there. I struggled through because I didn’t really know where he is on his progression so I didn’t really know what to give him for a commitment. We are going to go and do service at his eggplant farm on Friday so that should be good.
